Find the size that actually fits

Three questions is usually enough. The rest just makes it more accurate.

The questions

Units

Inches go with pounds, centimetres with kilograms.

in

Tape level, snug — don't hold your breath.

How to take it properly

These sit higher than trousers. Run the tape around the bare middle, level with the navel — settled flat, snug enough to stay put, never pulled tight.

From a garment that fits well at the waist: lay it flat and relaxed, measure straight across the top of the waistband, then double it.

Which cut do you need?

The padding sits in a different place on each cut. Pick the one that suits the body it's for.

How will you wear them?Optional

Worn over a diaper, the right size is bigger. That's the only reason we ask.

For a closer fit

Each of these narrows the answer. None is required.

in

Around the widest part of your hips and seat. From a garment: lay it flat, double the width.

in

Around the top of your thigh, standing. From trousers: double the flat width at the top of the leg.

lb

Youth sizes use weight as well as waist. Approximate is fine.

How much should they hold? Optional

The fitting

Most size charts just repeat what the maker says. We measure the garments ourselves: the waistband relaxed and stretched, the rise, the leg openings.

How you wear them matters too. Over a diaper you usually need a different size than you would on their own.

  • Best overall
  • Best worn alone
